First in Class at Spring Concours

First in Class at Spring Concours

Sunday 23 May saw the AMOC hold their annual spring Concours d’Etat which was held at Blenheim Palace. It was a fabulous setting for a truly outstanding array of Astons, which included a recently completed DB 2/4 MKI Drophead in the Feltham class, entered by Post Vintage.

After much preparation, cleaning and polishing, the car travelled from the Post Vintage Premises to Blenheim for 9am on Sunday morning. On its arrival there was time for a few final preparations before the arrival of the judges promptly at 11am.

Every aspect of the car was inspected in the utmost detail, scrutinising every last stitch of the interior and hood and every inch of the engine. After inspecting each of the seven cars in the class the judges retired to discuss their findings and score the cars.

It was a long and anxious wait until the prize giving at 3pm, but there was plenty to see in the meantime, with the event being the largest gathering of Aston Martins in the world, including the new One-77, and a fly by from a magnificent spitfire.

The Feltham class was the first to be announced, with prizes being awarded by Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough. With an outstanding 96 points out of a possible 100, the Post Vintage prepared DB2/4 Drophead finished in first place in the Feltham Class. A wonderful end to an historic occasion.
