Mille Miglia Update Day 1
The Mille Miglia 2009 is now underway! After successfully passing through the scrutineering process on Wednesday, Adrian and Terry set off on their journey of 1000 miles at 9.20pm local time from Brescia in Italy yesterday (Thursday 14th May).
The journey saw the duo travel through Solferino and Verona and finish in Ferrara. They covered approximately 250 miles in this first leg, finishing in the early hours of Friday morning. By the end of day one they were in a very respectable 151st place.
The hard work then really started for workshop manager, Trevor, who is accompanying the team. With a headlamp failure to repair and general maintenance checks to complete to ensure the Jaguar was in top condition for day two, Trevor had a long night ahead.
Also looking after four other cars, two Aston Martin Ulsters, an Aston Martin DB2 and an Alfa Romeo 6C, Trevor worked right through the night to ensure that all the vehicles were prepared for the next leg. His work was complete by 6 am local time, which was perfectly timed for a 7.30am start this morning. Sleep at the Mille Miglia is not an option!
Day two will see the rally travel to Rome taking in Ravenna, Sansepolcro and Reiti along the way, covering approximately 350 miles over 14 hours.

Best of luck to everyone for day two!
