Having been known by ourselves since 1978, Post Vintage purchased this car in 2006 with original paintwork and interior.
The car was then subject of a full restoration. It was stripped to bare shell, had the body removed and acid dipped. The body was then rebuilt with a powder coated chassis and the bodywork was repaired and refitted. The car was then painted teh correct shade of Aston Martin Silver Birch.
The remainder of the car was then rebuit to the highest of standards, to the following specification:
· Rear axle rebuilt with high ratio 3.54 new
crown wheel and pinion
· New hubs, half shafts etc
· Gearbox totally stripped and rebuilt (5 speed ZF)
· Engine rebuilt with new bearings, line bored, new clutch, 4.2 litre Cosworth pistons. Lead free gas
flowed cylinder head. Rebuilt carburettors etc.
· Braking system fully rebuilt with new discs, master cylinder, servos and callipers.
· Suspension fully rebuilt with gas type shock absorbers and Harvey Bailey handling kit. New hubs and
all new bushes. Fitted with hydraulic power steering to our own design.
· Interior fully re-trimmed in red hides and maroon Wilton carpets with black mohair hood.
· Fully rewired with rebuilt instruments etc.
